Therefore, production facilities, including production machines, must always be in optimal condition to ensure continuity and quality of production. However, the maintenance activities at PT MAS have only included weekly maintenance such as lubrication and general checks on all machines, as well as the replacement or repair of components when breakdowns occur (corrective maintenance). Maintenance scheduling is still conditional based on the type of component damage and the subjectivity of the mechanical department. As a result, downtime frequently occurs, especially in the jellygum machine area, accounting for 53% of the total downtime of all machine areas, leading to significant opportunity cost losses. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate and optimize maintenance policies, especially for critical components, to reduce maintenance costs and improve the availability of jellygum machines. Optimization is conducted using a periodic maintenance policy model for repairable components and an age replacement method for non-repairable components. Based on the optimization results, the optimal maintenance intervals for non-repairable components are 315 hours for ED character and 119 hours for transfer pump o-ring, with availability rates of 99,92% and 99,79%, respectively. For repairable components, the optimal intervals are 1.111 hours for end seal, 973 hours for coupling, and 1.222 hours for hose, with component availability rates of 99,99%. This policy reduces total maintenance costs by 43%. Additionally, the availability of critical components end seal, hose, coupling, transfer pump o-ring, and ED character increased by 0,49%, 0,19%, 0,14%, 0,19%, and 0,06%, respectively. text |
