Description
Summary:The problem of sea transportation is that there is often an imbalance between the needs of movement supported by environmentally friendly systems and sources of financing to meet these movements. The problem of overcapacity that has occurred in ports in Indonesia so far is often carried out by expanding land used for infrastructure improvement. Some previous studies have only focused on overcoming the problems/negative impacts of port land expansion with the concept of green ports to reduce emissions. So this study will examine the change in land for the development of the International Port and the success of the green port concept seen from the aspect of economic prosperity which refers to JP. Rodrigue (2010) needs to measure the performance and efficiency of land-based regionalization to take economic benefits. In this study, descriptive and comparative descriptive statistical methods are used to see the assessment of the variables that support the success of the green port concept from land change. From the results of the study, it was found that there were several variables of land expansion that could not provide a positive assessment, namely in terms of regional characteristics, namely the percentage change in the number of population, the percentage of change in livelihood and income level, then in terms of the percentage increase in GDP, as well as cargo throughput capacity. So that at Kijing Port, the number of export-import activities has actually decreased. From this situation, it is necessary to determine superior export-oriented sectors/commodities at the location of the Kijing Terminal International Port so that it can estimate costs and time, and collaborate with the local government to accommodate problems that may arise. The weaknesses of this study include using variables that are relatively limited, it is necessary to find more accurate variables, where the economic aspect is basically difficult to measure its success. Further research is needed by involving related external parties related to container loading and unloading operational activities in order to synergize with each other for the smooth loading and unloading of containers
