Considering that Indonesia is an archipelagic country with so many island and with a huge coastline, so it required a big effort to keep the groundwater stability in coastal area in a purpose that the availability of fresh water consumption keep remain to awake, because coastal area is a rapidly growing area as an industrial area, dwelling and tourism so that it need a special handling with a purpose to keep the hidrogeological system keep remained.

Research location reside in the coast of Ciracap which administration area si in Kabupaten Sukabumi is a coastal area that have been made as Tourism area and projected will rapidly grow. To anticipate the possibility that will be happen to the coastal aquifer specially the possibility of sea water intrusion to the groundwater so that groundwater as the source of freshwater for the civilization near the location unused anymore. Considering the main litology of the area is an alluvial coastal that so potential for the seawater intrusion. There are also corral limestone wich has hidrolic conductivity 10(pangkat -6) m/sec (literature) is also the potential litologic for the intrusion.

In the reseach, it has done some studied for the aquifer system to give the comprehensive explanation of the hidrogeological system of the research area Ciracap coastal as a point for the interaction of groundwater and seawater with the stability. In the research we got the conclution that the research area has an unconfined aquifer with the main litologic as aquifer is coastal alluvial (Qha) with hydrolic conductivity is 2. 5 x 10(pangkat -6) m/sec and in the north coastal is cibodas formation (sandstone) with hydrolic conductivity 1,8834 x 10(pangkat -7) m/sec (result of test of the laboratory). In the research also done infiltration test to the research ground area, hydrolic conductivity, physical and chemical quality analisys, waterlevel measured, and determination of groundwaterand seawater interface.

From the research we have got the conclution that aquifer system of the research area is an unconfined aquifer and at this moment in natural condition the intrusion of seawater is not happened yet. And we expected that the result of this research can be usefull for the interconected people/company/government in purpose for the management of Ciracap coastal area. |
