Nur.;ing competencies are knowledge of nursing care standard and thei- ski!, and the individual characteristic are age, sex, educ ationallevel, and seniority. Design in this study was is cross sectional Samples were take 75 nurse from wards it Surgical Department in Dr.Soctomo Hospital Surnbaya. Samples were taken by "Stratified Random Sampling'" Financial, social and psychocological rewards were identified as indep endent variables and motivational. performance 0 f nurse was dep endent variable. Data were c oUected by using questionnaire and analysed with SPSS double logistic regression wIh significance level 0 f < 0,05. Result of double logistic regression wth (l 0,05 was < 0,05, indicated that there was a significant corelation between level of motivation pafonnmce and , educ :iionalleve~ financial rewards and level of motivation perfonnance (p=O.OO), social rewards and level of motivation performance (p=O.OOl) and psychological reward and level 0 f motivation p erfottnanc e (0.02). Signific ant cOlTelation was not found between age and sex and motivational performance among nurses in Dr. Sodomo General Hospital in January 2002.
