The Parental Authority Questionnaire, Rosenberg's Self -Esteem Scale and Prosocial Tendencies Measure were used in order to measure an adolescent's perception of their parents way of parenting, their self-esteem, as well as their prosocial behavior. It also looked into the influence of parenting style on adolescents' prosocial behavior and self-esteem the influence of self-esteem on the prosocial behavior of adolescents and the role of self-esteem as a mediator on the relationship between parenting style and prosocial behavior. Data were gathered from 358 Filipino adolescents with the mean age of 17.60 years (SD =1.32). Results showed that self-esteem significantly and partially mediated the relationship of parenting style and adolescent prosocial behavior. Furthermore, permissive and authoritative parenting, and self-esteem predicted prosocial behavior of adolescents, whereas authoritarian parenting did not predict their prosocial behavior.
