Vistan, Katrina B. Interactionist Theory of Job Satisfaction asserts a match between job values and environmental characteristics among satisfied workers (Wood, 1981). Guided by this theory, the researchers aimed to find out personal work values and perception of the work setting among satisfied factory workers and the extent to which they manifest a correspondence between these variables. Questionnaires made up of 3 parts were distributed among 200 workers of Company X. Part 1 was used for the selection of satisfied workers and Parts 11 and 111, for the measurement of personal work values and perception of the work setting and of their correlation. Seventy-four out of these 200 workers came out satisfied and qualified to become the participants in this study. Mean scores of each participant for items on Parts 11 and 111 were computed. It was observed that most of the first ten personal work values and first ten perceived responsive job aspects correspond to the classification of social, esteem and self-actualization needs or higher-order needs as grouped by A. Maslow (McCormick and Tiffin, 1974). Also, there are five job aspects which are considered to be included both in these first ten personal work values and perceived responsive job aspects. These findings lead to the expectation of the congruency between the variables. This expectation was confirmed to be existing through the results of Spearman Rho computations. The value derived, 4s = .74, as tested under T-test of significance showed a positive high correlation. Thus, the null hypothesis, stating that there is no positive relation between personal work values and perception of the work setting was rejected. 1984-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/10252 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Social service Social service--Moral and ethical aspects.
