Summary: | This study focused on determining the effects of organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and job stressors on turnover intention among employees in New Nemar Development Corporation, a family-owned motorcycle dealership. The researchers used IBM SPSS Statistics to perform a multiple regression, which revealed the functional relationships between the variables used in the study. The dependent variable in the study is turnover intention while the independent variables are organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and job stressors. Prior to the study, the researchers posed three hypotheses: that organizational commitment has no significant effect on turnover intention, that job satisfaction has no significant effect on turnover intention, and that job stressors have no significant effect on turnover intention.
After conducting the study, however, the researchers have found out that only the third hypothesis is accepted organizational commitment and job stressors actually have significant effects on the dependent variable. It was also evident in the results of the study that there was high level of organizational commitment among the employees and a moderate level of job stress. The researchers then gave recommendations on how to reduce the level of stress while at the same time maintaining the level of organizational commitment. One such recommendation is to improve the employees work-life balance by making them attend seminars on achieving said balance or by encouraging them to do extra-curricular activities such as going to the company's own gym. |
