Leadership styles employed by managers in two major auditing firms in the Philippines as perceived by their subordinates

This descriptive study explored on the management and accounting research field to determine the leadership styles employed by accounting managers in the two major auditing firms in the Philippines as perceived by their subordinates. The leadership behaviors of the managers were assessed by surveying lower-level employees belonging in the assurance, tax and other advisory service group of the firms. The instrument used was a modified version of Managerial Practice Survey form-G-16-4-1. The hypotheses were tested using the Two-Way ANOVA and significant differences were discovered on various leadership styles employed by managers. Based on the results, task-oriented style was the most dominant leadership style of managers in both firms. Recommendations were made to examine other contributing factors to these leadership styles.
