Description
Summary:This study will involve a twofold assessment the video game Anito: Defend a Land Enraged, both as a video game and as an emulation of Filipino culture. This study will initially focus on the basic elements of Anito as an adventure and role-playing game elements such as character, world, plot, and the like. The study will then show how these elements contribute to the games ability to tell its story. Accordingly, the association between the games story and its various cultural-historical references will be plotted out. These cultural-historical references will be juxtaposed with actual cultural and historical data, showing how Anito is accomplishing an act of emulation rather than an act of presentation. Lastly, after using all the aforementioned information, the study will then evaluate the Anito as a video game and as an emulation of Filipino culture.
