Summary:Fried embryonated duck eggs were analyzed for their microbial count and for the presence of coliform bacteria and Salmonella.A total of 30 samples were purchased from different food vendors at Carriedo, Manila. Out of the 30 samples, only one was found to contain bacterial organisms beyond the standard followed by the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) which 10 per gram. Fifteen of the samples were positive for coliform bacteria but where within the set limit. All of the 30 samples were negative for the presence of Salmonella sp.
