Summary:The aim of this thesis is to provide the proper bright-line rule in applying the idea/expression dichotomy in regards to video games. The thesis will first show the history of the idea/expression dichotomy and discuss all relevant cases, which tackled this doctrine in regards to video games. The thesis will then show how other jurisdictions apply the idea/expression dichotomy as to video games and then will discuss the different test employed by them. The chief aim of this thesis is to show which test is the most appropriate in tackling the problems regarding video game cloning.
