Description
Summary:This study examined how school principals led their schools through the COVID-19 pandemic crisis through Thornton’s framework (2021). The study aimed to discover the challenges the pandemic brought upon the school and their stakeholders, find out the leadership practices they enacted to resolve these challenges and the leadership traits and characteristics they manifested throughout. This research was confined to K-12 Christian institutions and implemented both synchronous and asynchronous classes during the height of the pandemic. The study revealed that school principals handled the COVID-19 pandemic similarly during the onset of the crisis but had variations in their leadership practices as the crisis went on due to the school’s unique context and the circumstances of their stakeholders. This meant that school principals at this time manifested more in their people-oriented leadership traits and characteristics instead of being result driven.
