Using a multi-method assessment procedure, results show improvement in two PCK components: knowledge about science curricula and knowledge about students' understanding of specific science topics. Improved mastery of subject matter was noted in achievement tests and in concept maps. Increased recognition of student prerequisite knowledge and areas of student difficulties were also observed.
