Summary: | With increased globalisation, many MNCS are involved in international technology transfer (ITT). This study aims to determine the status of ITT, the problems and issues that arise, changes that occur and human resource strategies used to manage such changes. An exploratory study was conducted that focussed specifically on MNCs in Singapore from 5 countries and 4 industry sectors. From the study, the transfer of management technology was identified to be a catalyst to the transfer of product and process technologies. Human resource development issues were identified to be important for effective ITT. Recommendations were made to MNCs for future decision making and academic scholars for future research. |
