Perceived power distance of their society is taken into account as a moderator that could positively influence the postulated relationship. Pre-existing measures were used to measure the abovementioned constructs. A behavioural measure of competitiveness using a computer game was also developed for this study. Regression analyses were ran for hypothesis testing. The need for uniqueness was found to be positively correlated with competitiveness, only when competitiveness is measured by a survey. Other measures of competitiveness did not produce any significant results. Limitations and recommendations for future studies were also discussed.
