Summary: | In the era of digitization and globalization, social media has provided a globalized platform for young people to show their talents and flaws to the world. At the same time, the amount of internet users spending time on watching online videos has increase significantly throughout the years. According to a statistics from a popular social platform - Youtube, 5 billion video have been watched per day globally and there are 500 hours of video uploaded to Youtube per minutes.[1] With the increase of daily time spent on social media among young people all across the world, video streaming has become more popular and trendy. Plus, seeing the rise of the influence of watching and creating video, majority of the company has shifted their marketing strategy to video marketing and online advertisement for more profit.
There are varieties of video contents that we can explore in social media like video blogging, dance and freestyle choreography, extreme sports and even our daily lifestyle. These video can be taken not only by camera but also portable devices such as mobile phones, GoPro, mini video recorder etc. Most of the video filmed required additional accessories such as tripod stand, gimbal, camera dolly etc in order to take smooth and better video.
This paper explored the idea of designing a camera holding gadget which can move with high flexibility and take video at any angle without a person’s help of holding the camera devices. The invention utilized the concept of mobile robot, gimbal and linear actuator to control the coordination and angle of the camera devices so that video can be taken while moving in any direction. |
