Description
Summary:In Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, defect in the printing of products is one of the common problems. Identifying these defects is crucial in maintaining the quality of the printed products and prevent wastage of resources. Traditionally, the inspection of the printed products is done manually. However, this is not feasible in the FMCG industry due to the high production and large inventory turnover rate of the products. Therefore, there is a need to develop a vision system that can accurately detect defects in the printed products in the high-speed production line. In this project, the development of the vision system together with an automatic image processing method and algorithms is explored and tested for the detection of defective colour printing. The results of the developing vision system show that it is capable of capturing high-quality images and successfully process the image automatically to detect any defective colour printing.
