Description
Summary:Amidst increasing global IT labor shortage problems, organizations in Southeast Asia and the rest of the world are finding it more difficult to fill job vacancies for information technology (IT) related functions that require a new skills-set necessary for global competitiveness and growth. Recruitment advertising remains one of the most widely used recruiting channels to attract quality IT professionals. Companies spend millions of dollars annually for recruitment advertising placements, but often are not able to measure how effective these ads are in terms of attracting the right people. This study examines the effectiveness of recruitment advertisements in the Philippines and Singapore in attracting qualified IT personnel by analyzing the correspondence between their content and visual elements with prescriptive models for effective IT recruitment advertising.
