Description
Summary:During cancer growth and metastasis, large demand of biomass often results in cancer cells encountering lack of nutrients. The lack of extracellular amino acids can lead to the induction of the integrated stress response (ISR). The ISR is mediated by phosphorylated eIF2-alpha (eIF2α) and activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4), with the latter transactivating target genes in numerous pathways, including that of De Novo Serine Synthesis (DNSS). This project focuses on elucidating the mechanism of this pathway in NKTL.
