To counter job insecurity arising from restructuring, employees are adopting career resilience strategies and protean careers. In future, organizations must therefore devise strategies that fulfill the contradicting demands for restructuring and retaining core employees. This study confirmed the validity of the approach of defining core employees as crucial to an employee retention strategy.
