新加坡潮州话的双及物结构 = Ditransitive construction in Singapore Teochew dialect

The ditransitive construction is an important construction which exists universally in all human languages and has always been a hot topic of discussion in linguistics. Different academic scholars research on ditransitive constructions from different perspectives, increasing our knowledge of it. This paper shall make an attempt in integrating typology and construction grammar to discuss and describe in detail the ditransitive construction in Singapore Teochew dialect. In doing so, it hopes to enrich the data lacking in modern Chinese dialect in areas of ditransitive construction. In recent years, the “Semantic Map model” methodology has gradually been introduced into Chinese Linguistics from the west. Thus, we no longer are satisfied with just describing the grammatical behaviours that appear in the language. We also have to consider that in order to draw a continuous conceptual region in the semantic map, we have to describe the grammatical behaviours that cannot appear in that particular language. |
