Summary: | This project looks into the control of virtual characters’ movements via a set of steering behaviours based on Craig Reynold’s work can be seen in the movie “Batman”. The use of steering behaviours to achieve coordinated formation movement is described. The addition of formation formulation creates a multi-layered framework for controlling a virtual character’s movement. Lower layers based on steering behaviours enable generic movements such as obstacle avoidance while higher layers enable goal-oriented behaviours such as unit formations used in military appliance. |
