Summary: | In recent years there is an increasing interest in a new class of materials, in which both electrical and magnetic ordering can coexist simultaneously [1]. Such so-called magnetoelectric materials are rare in nature, but they have many potential applications including new memory and sensor devices [2]. Multiferroic materials, i.e. a material that possesses more than one ordering (Ferroelectric (FE), Ferromagnetic or Ferroelastic) simultaneously, have been the object of fundamental studies and identified as a potential technological application [3].
In this project, charge amplifier for the multiferronic materials will be built. Charge amplifier is the convenient way to check ferroelectric property of multiferroic materials. The main advantages of charge amplifier are easy to set-up with minimum Laboratory equipments, able to avoid data acquisition devices and with external sensitivity adjust. Charge amplifier is designed starting from circuit level to the printed circuit board (PCB). Schematic and Layout of charge amplifier is drawn using OrCAD design software and charge amplifier printed circuit board (PCB) is fabricated using milling machine.
One piezoelectric thin film and two multiferronic materials are used to check the designed charge amplifier’s compatibility and durability. Ferroelectric of each materials are able explained using charge amplifier. |
