Summary: | Games engage us, capturing our attention and are part of modern culture. Nearly all children play video games, and gaming is common in college as well. Games offer the potential to be immersive, experiential learning environments. This project seeks to study the possibilities offered by games and blend education with technology by seamlessly integrating learning with games.
Limited research has been conducted in the area of educational games. However, no model or approach has been identified as yet which offers a viable and sustainable means of utilizing games in education. This project reviews previous research in this field and builds on that by designing and developing learning mini-games as a proof-of-concept.
3 Learning Mini-games were conceptualized and built using Adobe Flash technologies in this project to explore the feasibility of developing games based on concept maps for educational purposes. |
