Development of a networked car racing game based on a standalone car racing game

Setting up a client server based distributed environment is the basic step of testing some interest management algorithms. This distributed system can be simply a networked car racing game modified from a standalone racing game. The purpose of my project is to build such a networked game based on an...

This distributed system can be simply a networked car racing game modified from a standalone racing game. The purpose of my project is to build such a networked game based on an open source standalone game. The approach is to build both the client program and the server program separately. The client program gets the inputs from the user and then sends them to the server program for procession. After computation, the server program sends the updated statuses of the cars back to the client for display. The messages are exchanged via their sockets. To implement the programs, the original code was carefully studied regarding to the useful data structures and the game updating procedure.
