Jackknifing of articulated vehicles is a concern for PSA Singapore as it affects the company’s efficiency and safety. The following project is part of their effort to analyse the causes of articulated vehicle jackknifing and prevention of jackknifing accidents. This project discusses the causes of jackknifing based on the scenario of a PSA Singapore’s articulated vehicle manoeuvring a 90⁰ bend. For this project computer simulation software was used to simulate various test cases. A special software designed to simulate articulated vehicles known as TruckSim™ was used for all the simulations.
