历来,学者对新加坡儒学研究的方向有:儒学的在地化、政治化、民间化、现代化、宗教化等。新加坡儒学运动曾掀起两次高潮,首次比较显著的特点是儒学的民间化与宗教化。第二次的儒学运动始于新加坡建国之后,因而彰显了较为浓重的在地化、政治化与现代化。本文旨在以《儒家伦理》课程为个案研究,以20世纪80年代为时间段,从《儒家伦理》在教育体制内流传的原因、过程、流传之内容及终止之原因,四个方面来观察并研究儒学作为一个思想体系在新加坡教育体制内的流传。《儒家伦理》于1982年被列为宗教知识科之一。它是一套关于儒家思想的课程,着重于五伦与孝道的论述。但从提案到结束却仅仅维持了八年。从流传初期的轰轰烈烈到结束时的无声...

There are two main climaxes in the spread of Confucianism in Singapore. The significant one is the folk transformation of Confucianism and the creation of its religious dimension. The second is the liberation of Singapore that causes a great impact on the localization and modernization of Confucianism. The thesis uses “Confucian Ethics” in 1980s as a case study to study the spread of Confucianism in Singapore’s educational system. The thesis emphasises on the adoption of Confucian Ethics in schools and focuses on its reason, its process, its circulation and its dismissal. In 1982, "Confucian Ethics" was introduced as part of the school curriculum as a Religious Knowledge course. It focuses on the exposition of the five relationships and filial piety of Confucianism. However, the campaign only lasted for eight years before being abandoned. There are many uncertainties that accounts for its dismissal. This also reflects the limitations of spread of Confucianism in the Singapore education system.
