Summary:During 22 weeks of Industrial Attachment program with Offshore Construction Specialists, the author has gained valuable knowledge about the offshore industry. This report contains two main projects that the author was involved in. Covering the engineering aspects was Project Kangean in which the author tasked with the Rigging Design of the Riser Base and Terang Manifold sub-sea structures and Riser Base Pile drivability analysis. The author had to select the suitable type of slings and shackles and determine whether the spreader bar design, the shackles and slings arrangements and the padeye design were within API-RP 2A WSD guidelines for lifting. The Riser Base pile analysis saw the author used programs like OPILE and GRLWEAP to simulate the pile driving. Project Hess 2 which covered the operation aspects had the author assigned with the supervision of offloading and transportation of equipments from Barge MV SM250. The author work with personals on site to ensure all equipments were offloaded and transported to their storage site.
