In the early phase of the project, a thorough literature review regarding the use of APDM opal sensor, research articles regarding the conversion of acceleration data to displacement were made to have a better understanding of the project content. In the second phase of the project, the majority of the time was spent in the programming of the software interface. There were numerous challenges and setbacks due to lack of programming background. In the third phase, the author improved the functionality of the software interface and reduced accelerometer drift by means of algorithm.
