The scholarship scheme is targeted at three groups of Chinese students, those who have just completed their secondary school, high school sophomore and university freshmen. This paper aims to offer a glimpse into the subject of social inclusion of Mainland Chinese scholarship recipients in Singapore. By looking at lifestyle, social engagement and ideology, this paper is also an effort to examine each individual’s unique experience and hopes to discover a common pattern of how they make decisions and cope the change of environment. This paper wishes to shed some light on the social significance of the Generation Y batch of Chinese new immigrants. |
