With the rise of globalization, this attitude is bound to experience a significant change. The increased exposure of Western cultures has resulted in a shift of sexual attitudes in our society over the years. This is especially true for our teens, as several studies have shown that an increasing number of youths are now engaging in sexual acts at a younger age, proving that sexual attitudes have liberalized significantly among teens these days. However, several studies have also reflected that these teens are not equipped with adequate knowledge on sexual health awareness. This could be due to a lack of a relevant and comprehensive sex education system in Singapore. As such, this paper aims to find out the sexual attitudes of current undergraduates in Singapore, their sources of information about sex and their sexual health awareness level. The results of this study will serve as important references for the Ministry of Education and other relevant organisations. |
