Summary: | Quadcopters are used in an increasing variety of situations in varying autonomy. While much effort has gone into automating quadcopters while they are in flight, there is a lack of an autonomous support infrastructure for quadcopters. This thesis will examine Singapore’s Smart Nation project and explore the need for an autonomous drone infrastructure. Next, existing solutions will be evaluated, and possible designs for an autonomous support infrastructure for quadcopters will be examined. The design process will culminate in the fabrication of a preliminary design. Test flights will be done to prove the viability of and evaluate said design. Finally, suggestions for future improvements will be also made. |
