Summary: | This report describes a project that demonstrates the development of an Android
application for 3D reconstruction. Photographs of an object can be captured within the
application using the device’s built-in camera, or selected from existing images on the
device. These photographs will then be transferred to a laptop computer using
Bluetooth. The laptop computer executes a structure from motion algorithm which
reconstructs the object digitally as a three-dimensional mesh. The resulting mesh is
sent back to the device via Bluetooth, and can then be opened with other applications,
or transferred to other devices for modelling or printing. |
