Description
Summary:In the recent years, there has been an amplifying interest in researching and thriving new antimicrobial agents from various sources to combat microbial resistance. Therefore, greater attention has been paid to antimicrobial activity screening and evaluating methods. The aim of this paper is to provide a comparative analysis by testing various antibiotics and synthesized polymers on resistant bacteria to identify potential drugs for bacterial infections. The techniques employed here would be Minimum Inhibitory Concentration test (MIC) and Time Kill Assay. Repetitive testing is done on the polymers synthesized in the lab. Calculations are done to show the results that portray the efficiency of the polymer tested. Both gram positive and gram negative bacteria are selectively used for the testing. The polymers with better efficiency could be further tested in microfluidic chips to study the proper mechanism of it in typical physiology-mimicking environment and identify potential drugs.
