Therefore, greater attention has been paid to antimicrobial activity screening and evaluating methods. The aim of this paper is to provide a comparative analysis by testing various antibiotics and synthesized polymers on resistant bacteria to identify potential drugs for bacterial infections. The techniques employed here would be Minimum Inhibitory Concentration test (MIC) and Time Kill Assay. Repetitive testing is done on the polymers synthesized in the lab. Calculations are done to show the results that portray the efficiency of the polymer tested. Both gram positive and gram negative bacteria are selectively used for the testing. The polymers with better efficiency could be further tested in microfluidic chips to study the proper mechanism of it in typical physiology-mimicking environment and identify potential drugs. Master of Science (Biomedical Engineering) 2017-06-16T03:13:14Z 2017-06-16T03:13:14Z 2017 Thesis http://hdl.handle.net/10356/72360 en 57 p. application/pdf
