Summary: | This project report provides an insight on the detailed research, development and construction of hardware and software in regards to the final year project at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The project is divided into three main components. For the first component, the objective is to design a three way Tug-of-War system. As for the second component, motivation is expected to construct a configurable arena with different levels of difficulty and stages of routes. Lastly, components one and two are to be incorporated to form an integrated robotic three way Tug-of-War gaming arena. Tug-of-War is an outdoor sport that directly engages two teams against one another in a game of test of strength. For the first component, the idea and concept is to construct a 3-way Tug-of-War system/game that is suitable to be played not just outdoors but also indoors. The student is given full flexibility on his approach in the design of the Tug-of-war design as long as the originality and concept of the sport is still preserved. Secondly, the construction of the configurable arena is also left to the student’s imagination and creativity in constructing an eco-friendly ‘maze’ like arena. Thirdly, the incorporation of the both components to form a fully functional game for robots. This report will review and analyze the enhancements and improvements of the traditional Tug-of-War game. Furthermore, it does not restrict the game to just humans, but also, for artificial intelligence (AI) such as robots. In this project, the hardware and software components of the game/project will be critically assessed upon to ensure the success of a fully functional game. At the end of the report, conclusions and summary will be drawn based on the results and problems identified during the entire process. Further improvements will also be critically examined for future enhancements of the game. |
