Description
Summary:The traditional approach of sliding mode control design has been the design of a control so as to achieve a pre-designed sliding objective. However, not much research has been carried out in the area of designing the sliding surface. This paper presents a technique for designing a sliding surface such that confined to the surface, the system has linear quadratic optimality. The paper also proposes a multirate output feedback based control that would lead the system to the aforementioned optimal sliding mode.
