Summary:This paper presents adaptive asymptotic tracking control of a class of uncertain strict-feedback discrete-time nonlinear systems subjected to parametric and nonparametric model uncertainties with unknown periodic time delay. Using states information in the past instant to compensate for non-parametric uncertainties at the current instant, constructive adaptive control is developed based on predicted future states. The designed adaptive control guarantees the bounded-ness of all the closed-loop signals and achieves asymptotic tracking performance.
