Summary: | The purposes of this research were (1) to study the relationship between perceived external prestige, turnover intention and affective commitment and (2) to examine predictive power of perceived external prestige on turnover intention with affective commitment as a mediating variable. The correlational research design was used. The respondents were 315 Chiang Mai University staff. Research instruments consisted of 4 scales: demographic data scale, perceived external prestige scale, affective commitment scale and turnover intention scale. For data analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis (Causal Steps of Baron & Kenny, 1986 cited in Kenny, 2014) and Sobel test were used. The result indicated that affective commitment fully mediated the relationship between perceived external prestige and turnover intention of Chiang Mai University staff. |
