Description
Summary:There are a lot of developing and to be developed geothermal development project in Indonesia. The generation of geothermal energy is expected to rise from 1,493 MW to 7,238.5 MW in 2025. Because there will be many project to achieve this target, then there should be a study which provide an estimation about the cost needed and also economical study about this geothermal development project. This study will provide an overview about the expense component of a geothermal development project along with its price which are calculated to the generation of 20 MW and 55 MW in Indonesia. The result of this literature study then will be used to calculate the economical aspect of the project which is described by the value of Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Present Value (NPV), and Pay Out Time (POT) that will give a consideration about the feasibility to continue the project or not. The capital cost needed to develop 20 MW generation of geothermal is 142 million US$ or 7.1 million US$/MW along with operating and maintenance cost of 2.74 million US$/year and the make-up well cost of 22.5 million US$. To achieve IRR=16%, in 2023, the price of electricity that is needed is 16.135 cent US$/kWh. Meanwhile, The capital cost needed to develop 20 MW generation of geothermal is 303.45 million US$ or 5.52 million US$/MW along with operating and maintenance cost of 5.225 million US$/year and the make-up well cost of 82.5 million US$. To achieve IRR = 16%, in 2023, the price of electricity that is needed is 11.789 cent US$/kWh.
