Description
Summary:Squeezing phenomemon handling is needed in overcoming the problem of the squeezing phenomenon that occurs on the water tunnel wall at the Manikin Dam with methods that can be applied, one of which is by forepoling which includes the pre-support method. Forepoling is applied in the form of a material that envelops the tunnel. In this study, forepoling modeling was carried out with two models, namely roof forepoling and modification of the second model, namely roof-sidewall forepoling. In addition, in order to increase the effectiveness of squeezing handling with forepoling, further modifications were made by adding a 0.5 meter thick concrete lining. The results of the analysis show that there is a decrease in the total displacement value in the application of squeezing handling with the forepoling roof method, and the roof-support forepoling method when compared to the initial conditions. In handling with roof forepolling, at E values of 230 MPa, 100 MPa, and 80 MPa, the displacement decreased to 14.8 cm, 28.4 cm and 33.5 cm. Then by handling the roof-sidewall forepoling, with E values of 230 MPa, 100 MPa, and 80 MPa, the displacement decreased to 12.6 cm, 24.6 cm, and 29.1 cm. Then with the addition of a 0.5 meter thick concrete lining, with E values of 230 MPa, 100 MPa, and 80 MPa, the displacement decreased to 10.6 cm, 19 cm, and 24 cm. Therefore, the most effective squeezing handling method is the use of a roofsidewall forepoling model added with the application of concrete lining in an effort to resist the deformation that occurs in the Manikin Dam water tunnel.
