Growth of pechay (Brassica chinensis L.) exposed to varying concentrations of sulfur dioxide

Brassica chinensis L. (pechay) was exposed to different concentrations of sulfur dioxide such as 0.5, 0.3, 0.1, and 0.05 ppm. The parameters that were determined included leaf area (sq cm.), dry weight (g), ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in g/g and protein (ug/mL) contents. Data were analyzed using the O...

الملخص:Brassica chinensis L. Data were analyzed using the One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) in a completely randomized design (CRD) and the Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Results showed highly significant differences among the different treatments for all of the parameters measured except vitamin C which had a highly significant difference only after 0.1 ppm of S02 was applied. A general decreasing trend was observed indicating an inversely proportional relationship between SO2 concentration and the parameters measured.
