Summary:The study identified and described the pattern and perceived effects of n supervisory style and first job experience (in terms of job match and career expectations) to the turnover intention of selected Generation Y graduates. Data collection consisted of survey questionnaires which garnered 130 respondents for the quantitative part, and one-on-one interviews with 11 participants using narrative approach for the qualitative part. The quantitative data and other demographics were summarized with descriptive statistics while inductive thematic analysis was used to analyze the data obtained from interviews. The study was able to identify Attractive ISS as the prevalent internship supervisory style experienced by Generation Y graduates. Relevant first job experiences were also identified through looking into job matches (closely related, somewhat related, not related) and career expectations such as being in a healthy work environment, being provided with proper compensation and benefits, and having personal expectations with the company fulfilled. The study also found out that regardless of internship supervisory style and job match, it was the deprivation of these identified themes under career expectations such as healthy work environment, proper compensation, and room for growth and development is what would lead to turnover intention.
