This action research is to formalize Qualiprint Inc., which is a family owned business. For more than 30 years the company has operated without a formal organizational structure, company policies and job descriptions. This issue of opportunity was addressed by creating an organizational structure aimed to streamline communications in the company as well as to create new roles for the company to achieve their objectives. By having discussions and recognizing patterns of communications we were able to create a formal structure. Through the study and documentation of traditions in the company, a handbook was created and implemented in the company. In studying how the employees worked and through research, job descriptions were also created for the company. This opportunity was constructed through collaboration with managers and shareholders of the company. The planning and implementation of the organizational structure, company handbook and job descriptions was done in two action research cycles that resulted in the initial formalization of the company. Since the creation and implementation of formal documents entails change, Lewins change model was used to plan, implement and evaluate the changes. Several reflection and learning techniques from Coghlan and Brannick (2014) are also used for this action research in order to gather learnings and insights. 2018-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/5611 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Organizational change Organizational effectiveness--Measurement |
