Summary:With the aim of determining the organizational benefit of employee empowerment, this correlational descriptive study has investigated the mediating effect of psychological and perceived employee empowerment on organizational factors of empowerment (empowering leader and empowering organization) and organizational performance. To determine the mediating effect of both psychological and perceived employee empowerment, a multiple-part survey questionnaire was accomplished by 315 service employees from automotive, communication, financial, information/technology, and manufacturing industries. The multiple-part survey questionnaire include: (a) Empowerment Questionnaire, (b) Psychological Empowerment, and (c) Organizational Performance Survey (OPS). Results revealed that both psychological and perceived employee empowerment has partial mediating effect on empowering organization and organizational performance. This result implies the ability of employee empowerment as measured by psychological and perceived employee empowerment to influence organizational performance. It further points out the critical role of the organization in influencing employee empowerment, thus promote positive organizational performance.
