Celestina T., R.V.M. This study determines and compares the perceptions of the principals and teachers with regard to the principals' leadership style. The descriptive-survey research method was employed in the study. The subjects were the 14 Sister principals of the 14 high schools of Luzon outside Manila and the 135 teachers of the same schools. Three of the schools involved in the study were diocesan schools also managed by the RVM Sisters. The enrollment ranges from 130 to 750 high school boys and girls. The main instrument used was a 45-item questionnaire prepared by the researcher. Raw data were taken from the responses made by the 14 principals and 135 teachers. Responses were computed. To quantify the item responses, points were assigned to the five choices which the respondents were asked to check as to the frequency with which the principal exhibited the behavior described in the item. Means, t-test and product-moment coefficient of correlation were computed to analyze and interpret the data. The following conclusions were drawn in the light of the findings : 1. The 14 Sister principals of the 14 RVM high schools in the region of Luzon perceived themselves as very democratic leaders. 2. The 135 teachers involved in this study perceived their principals as very democratic in their leadership. 3. There was no significant difference between the perceptions of the principals and teachers on the leadership style in general. Only two out of 45 items showed that there was a significant difference in their perceptions. 4. There is no significant relationship between the perceptions of the principals and teachers of the leadership style. 1977-06-01T07:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/459 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=7297&context=etd_masteral Master's Theses English Animo Repository Leadership High school principals--Philippines--Luzon--Psychology High schools--Administration-Philippines--Luzon Educational Administration and Supervision Educational Leadership
