Summary: | Employee retention is one of the challenges in Human Resources as this relates to employee job satisfaction. In contrast, employee turnover has been uncontrollable, especially in the V.U.C.A. environment. Therefore, the researcher aims to propose a viable retention plan for the management of a mobile device protection company.
The study's conceptual framework applied Input, Process, and Output (I.P.O.). The quantitative phase applied a theoretical framework of the Job Characteristics Model (J.C.M.), Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity V.U.C.A., and Employee Retention.
The research utilized a mixed method design that allows qualitative and quantitative approaches. In the qualitative phase, an exploratory sequential method was used to gather information through semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, and exit interviews. The analysis applied transcription, manual coding, and theme extraction to construct an instrument for the quantitative phase. Linear mixed method design was also applied, where qualitative data was gathered first to construct a survey instrument. Then, the quantitative phase was analyzed using Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Regression as the researcher's statistical tools.
As a result, the researcher identified the areas of dissatisfaction with their association and prediction. Therefore, it is concluded that uncertainty is critical in retaining regular employees in a mobile device protection company. |
