An efficient AgOTf-catalyzed (TfO = trifluoromethanesulfonate) cyclopropyl carbinol rearrangement for the synthesis of benzo[b]oxepines and 2H-chromenes is reported by starting from 2-[cyclopropyl(hydroxy)methyl]phenols.
