Empirical study on the efficiency of Malaysian banks.
This report uses the translog cost model to estimate the degree of economies of scale enjoyed by the top 5 Malaysian banks from 1991-1997. An assessment on the appropriateness of Bank Negara Malaysia's choice of the 10 anchor bank groups is done.
