Along with researching the usage of said language’s affinity for translation, especially for the adaptation of culture references. It will try to research the importance of trilingual translators in online fansub groups. Whether they help the fansub to achieve a better or more creative subtitle translation and a higher efficiency for translation to allow for continuous development of the modern media communication mode. This study chooses two videos from the famous fansub called ShenBiBi online fansub group in China where the writer of this dissertation has experienced part-time subtitle translation. This writer holds adequate mastery over the Korean and English language. Therefore, the three languages chosen will be Chinese, English and Korean. This study plans to verify the hypothesis through the experiment. The experiment contains two parts. The first phase is to compare the Chinese outcome which was recovered from English subtitles and the Chinese outcome which was recovered from spoken Korean or Korean subtitles. The aim is to verify the language affinity between Korean and Chinese. The second phase is to compare the Chinese output which just processed by the English subtitle and the Chinese output which after arduous effort by the writer to verify acceptable language affinity for translation and tantamount emphasis for qualified and creative trilingual translator for the fansub of both spoken Korean and English subtitles. In conclusion, from the study of this dissertation, it is simple to see such an affinity really can improve the accuracy of subtitles, especially for the use of culture references and expressional tones. It can serve as the effective tool for the trilingual translator to understand the original meaning and produce an accurate mirror translations. This in turn aids the fansub for the modern media communication mode to spread the information through a Chinese linguistic environment and lead the further development of cultural communication globally.
